وَصَلَ عُمَرُ إِلَى مَدِينَةٍ جَدِيدَةٍ وَلَا يَعْرِفُ الطَّرِيقَ إِلَى الْفُنْدُقِ. سَأَلَ رَجُلًا فِي الشَّارِعِ: عَفْوًا، أَيْنَ فُنْدُقُ النَّخِيلِ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ؟
Transliteration
waṣala ʿUmaru ilā madīnatin jadīdatin wa lā yaʿrifu aṭ-ṭarīqa ilā al-funduqi. saʾala rajulan fī ash-shāriʿi: ʿafwan, ayna funduqu an-nakhīli min faḍlika?
English translation
Omar arrived in a new city and does not know the way to the hotel. He asked a man on the street: Excuse me, where is the Palm Hotel, please?
